Newcastle-on- ̈yhe.

3rd September, 1921.

r. S.T. Vincent was employed at the Admiralty Engineering Laboratory, under my superintendence, from April 1917 to "wřeh 1970. He joined the Laboratory as a laboratory assistant and was engaged in installing workshop machines, erecting and running experimental oil engines of the direct-injection and explosion types and ́sarrying out necessary repairs and alterations,"

During this time r. Vincent was in charge of two experimental units.

In view of "r. Vincent's technical qualifications he was later promoted to the position of Technical Secretory. In this position, in addition to the ordinary routins work connected with wages 20., he was engaged in recording and analysing all trial records

In the preparation of matter for investigations and reports.

I found fr. Vincent to be a keen, intelligent and energetic worker. He has a sound practical knowledge and his work showed that he possenses organising ability.

r. Vincent was still employed at the Laboratory when I retired in "arch 1920.
